Annemieke Dirkes, of the BitShares Blockchain Foundation, today announced the launch of the Graphene Foundation, a not-for-profit, open-source organisation designed to stimulate development of the Graphene software framework.
Dirkes made the announcement at DasCoin’s Evolution of Money event, held at London’s O2 Arena on Friday and attended by thousands of crypto experts and industry leaders.
BitShares blockchain is built on Graphene technology and was designed from the ground up to process more transactions each second than any other system, says the company.
“Our goal is to further the development of blockchain technologies that are based on or originated from the Graphene software framework,” the team explains on the fledgling community’s new website.
“We achieve this by actively encouraging development processes, but also by doing reviews, publications, participate in software development, education, training or by giving financial support to ultimately open source intended development of third parties.
“By enlarging integration of the technology in existing and new software environments and promoting the open source code of the Graphene technology, we will distribute the Graphene technology to reach a broader public.”
